I realized that I have not posted to my blog in a whole month now. December was sooooo busy. I went to Florida with Mom. More on that later. Oy vay, as Paula would say. Then there is the Holiday shopping. Someone has to give our economy a boost. Right? I used to love to just go shopping. Now I can't stand to even go to the grocery store. And if I go to Sam's I spend most of it on cat litter and cat food. I did enjoy hanging in Half Price Books. But the dust from the books eventually bothers my allergies. The same thing happens in the Library.
I have been off from work for 12 days in a row. Glorious, but not long enough. Add another 10 years and it might seem adequate. The best thing is that we get paid for the time off. The perks of working at a college. I only checked email twice while I was off. It was kind of nice not to be bothered with it. Some days I didn't leave the house. Other days I had to. How's that for a Bah Humbug attitude?
So, I'm rambling. And what does this have to do with 1987? I often feel like only yesterday it was October 1987. Time goes by so fast. Too fast. As I was finishing up Shirley Maclaine's book Saging While Aging the other day, I came to a section where she discusses time and the speed of time, Einsteinian principles, etc. Apparently, there is an actual theory that time has been speeding up since 1987. Our 24 hour day is equal to 16 hours back then. A Ha! No wonder I feel like there is never enough time in the day to get everything done.
